We said farewell and 'Thank you' to our groom Katie Meade in August, as she set off back to College and pastures new and 'Hello again!' to Kim Garrett, who is now freelancing as a groom and working here at Highfox part time.

July - Forever went for a canter around the ring at a local show, winning a mixed ridden class and and standing overall Reserve Ridden Champion in show.

Fifteen year old Rainy Day Girl is currently running out with Samsons Spy and is expected to foal in June 2009.

A big thank you to the Jubb family (Claire and Shirley) for letting us have Valepark Rothchild on loan for two years. He has now gone back home to teach someone else how to gallop and jump and to allow Philippa to concentrate on her little Foresters. ''Thank you Tonka for the riding lessons and lots of fun. We are going to miss you!'

June - Spy attended his first County Show, winning the youngstock class and standing Reserve Champion at Cheshire.

An unexpected nice surprise was to find that Hermione was seventh in the three year old NFPBCS Elite Scheme results for 2007. She only attended one Elite Show, the New Forest Breed Show in August, so this was completely unexpected.

May - We were pleased to welcome more visitors from the Netherlands at the end of May, when New Forest pony breeders Mr and Mrs.Krul and son Steven, came to view the ponies and enjoy a sunny spring day here in Yorkshire.

The two year old filly Highfox First Love (Rainy Day Girl x Furzley Charaide) moved to a new home in Lancashire with Gwen Sawyer.

Samsons Spy added to his education by trotting around a show ring for the first time, winning the PUK Large Breeds M&M Mixed Youngstock class and qualifying for the Glyn Greenwood Championship.

April -  It was lovely to have an unexpected visit from Mr and Mrs Molenaar from the Netherlands, well known breeders of performance New Forest ponies.

Finale and her owner won their first class together off the lead rein, an open first ridden at Eldwick RC.

March  -  We had the pleasure of welcoming the Sherwood family, New Forest pony breeders from Victoria, Australia, Kate, Ellen and Dorothy to stay with us in March, on their way to the Forest and Badminton. The Yorkshire weather did not disappoint....it snowed on cue as soon as they arrived!

Samsons Spy (Farriers Fingerprint x Blue Secret of Samson) passed his two year old colt inspection. He travelled to the New Forest to be assessed. He is now licensed as a stallion.

We have a new ridden pony our twelve hand mare Highfox Hermione, who will  take over ridden duties from Finale in 2009.

2007 Bits and Pieces

Highfox Evensong and Highfox Forever . They got around quite a bit in 2007, travelling to Scotland to do the same for the Native Pony Magazine event at the Scottish Equestrian Centre, near Edinburgh earlier in the year. Forever even went international, travelling to Holland to represent the NFPB&CS (GB) at the New Forest Stamboek's International Mare Show. Quite a year! The mares are pictured below on the cross country course at the Burghley International Three Day Event; they were there on the final day to represent the New Forest Breed as part of the Ponies UK Native Pony Display
